Nicholas Morgan on the Other Side of the
monotony
i’m in a small town
in the middle of Georgia
sitting in my truck at a small truck stop
i’m done working for the day
i feel completely alone
it never gets any easier
this life we are thrown into
lightning is coming down
a freak storm with hail
staring out my front windshield
i notice cars driving around
people getting gas
construction workers buying beer
i turn the radio off
feeling out of place
in my own skin
i haven’t smiled in months
it wasn’t suppose to be like this
the trucks computer beeps
they want me to get moving again
another load to Los Angeles is waiting
