Aryan Kaganof
on the other side of
the ragged EDGE...
Kaganof is a conceptual art project about how mythology functions in an urban context. The posters are part of that, the reviews, the books, the films. Everything is about interaction. Kaganof is a character in my novel; his autobiography. And my novel, as it appeared at the NSA Gallery in Durban, or the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, is a public space, but an unfinished one. It's still under (de)construction. But there is also the politics of how images occur, and are spread through a market-driven urban landscape, where every space that vies for your attention is conditioned by economics. Kaganof isn't art well marketed; the marketing of Kaganof is his art.
