How To Be The Greatest Lover In The World

You must imagine her funeral procession as you sit in traffic
You must imagine waiting to see her corpse on line at the bank
You must imagine her funeral pyre every time you light a match
You must imagine you’re visiting her grave when you go for the morning paper
You must imagine her ghost in the steam when you make water for tea
You must imagine announcing her death every time you check your watch
You must imagine the crumbs of her bones in the pinchers of a beetle
You must imagine you feel her lips when the worms surface on the wet streets
You must imagine her skin as a piece of paper flies in front of your car
You must imagine her absence after every empty field you pass
You must swallow all these portraits of her
You must accept Death as the third wheel
Then and only then will you love like one should love
