Fixing Him

Bass shouldn’t of
told Muriel about
stupid Debbie
chopped her dang hair

too short

like a butch dyke

Not like Debbie

could just go out

and grow it back long

the way the front yard

sometime goes

in less than a week

And who was him to say ?

no hair hisself

except pushing

nose goobers haywire

two inches

growing black

out his earholes

No wonder

how she up and busted

the only light bulb

in the garage
with a ball peen hammer

Nailed him in the dark

Him whining

like she’d went

and sewed his nuts

to his knees

Him and her

ain’t even parked

their F150 there no more

since they put Jesse down

Then stuck his collar

up over that

bent Christmas tree angel.

Just mice and

broke-down stuff

she don’t need

she keeps there

Not like she needs milk

with her peanut butter

all the time
