Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal on the Other Side of the
Count on the Sun
The sun followed me
down the street,
on my way to work,
that place where
demands outweigh
the time to take
care of everything
that needs to get
done efficiently.
There is no sunshine
in this place.
There are rats in this
place, which race
around this maze,
in these cubicles
of death, where
retirement is
many years away.
I prefer going out
where I can
count on the sun to
follow me. It
beats the hell out
of this place.
Sometimes it beats
on me. But it beats
being in this place.
